Hi, I’m Donna Jacobi. I’m a photographer and collage artist originally from Long Island, New York, now living and creating right here in Richmond, Virginia. My work is all about how I see the world—sometimes from a global perspective, and other times from just inches away.

As a photographer, I love the balance between traveling and getting up close. I’ve been lucky enough to visit many different countries, and in each place, I try to capture that one specific, unique thing that makes it special. When I’m not exploring new corners of the world, I’m usually looking at nature through a macro lens, finding beautiful details and patterns that most people walk right past.

That love for texture and layering is exactly what led me to collage. Most of my pieces are built from scratch using paper I paint by hand, which lets me get the exact colors and depth I’m looking for. I also love incorporating found objects into my work. Giving these everyday items a second life adds a bit of history and a tactile, gritty feel to the final piece.
